Mailers Are Recyclable
Garbage Haulers for Citizen Choice (GHCC) regularly sends out mailings when City Hall is attempting to take over management of the solid waste system, and either is doing so behind the backs of the people and/or is straying too far from the truth on common sense issues.
For example, we will inform voters through mailings when City Hall makes wild claims that solid waste trucks are a safety hazard when police reports state otherwise. Another common claim is that solid waste trucks are destroying the roads when many city public works directors have publicly stated exactly the opposite.
GHCC has no problem exposing the vast amount of misinformation that often comes from City Hall and city elected / appointed officials. The most efficient way of doing this is through mailings to every household.
Most recently, when City Hall has attacked GHCC, they refuse to debate us on the issues and instead just attack the paper our message is printed on.
GHCC will say that residents have a right to choose their own hauler, and City Hall responds by saying our mailings are not recyclable.
The level of ignorance at some City Halls is just stunning.
Yes our mailers have a nice shiny gloss to them. No it is not plastic. It can easily be torn.
Our mailers are printed with a UV light cured gloss coating, that is state of the art, and is the most environmentally friendly option on the market today. No harmful emissions like the old method of applying varnish to printed materials and curing with heat.
Google it. Make sure you are reading from a page that has the most up to date information on the newest gloss printing methods that involve ultra violet light.
YES, our mailers can be recycled, but we encourage residents to keep them as excellent resource materials.
Next time you hear City Hall claim our materials are not recyclable, speak up and tell them the truth. If someone has read our material and no longer needs it, we want them to use recycling.
