Maplewood Spending Increases

Maplewood's new Government Managed Trash Collection plan started on October 2012.  The Council claimed that they needed to take over management of the trash collection system to save the roads and reduce city public works spending.

GHCC analyzed Maplewood's Public Works Department actual spending for the years 2005 through 2015.  Not surprisingly, there was no reduction.  In fact, spending increased at a significant rate.

Shortly after Maplewood instituted Government Managed Trash Collection, and apparently "saved" the roads, they increased property taxes and created a new natural gas fee for road funding.
